History
The Round Anglesey Race is a legendary sailing race that has been gracing Anglesey’s shoreline since 1966. 48 years ago it was a two day event with sailors enjoying an overnight stop at Holyhead. It soon changed, although the exact date is not known, to become a non-stop circumnavigation of the Island. The annual race is exciting and sometimes even hair-raising but the chance to sail around the Island’s beautiful coastline in demanding sea conditions is what makes this a race sailors wouldn’t miss for the world!
